There was a Benjamite, a man of standing, whose name was Kish son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Becorath, the son of Aphiah of Benjamin. 1 Samuel 9:1 NIV 1984
In a few short words the names of five generations are listed. Becorath is listed in the Bible only once, in this verse. The written word summing up his entire life only includes his name and place in the genealogical record. His name means first-born. He had a son named Zeror, meaning bundle (bundle of joy-?) Beyond that, there are no clues about how he lived his life, his social status, occupation, passions or desires, or his love, or lack thereof for God. He is simply recorded as the first born who had a son given the name Zeror, meaning bundle. So, once our time on earth ends, what words might define us? Although most of us did not choose our names, what names do we choose for our children? What might that indicate about our character and mindset? A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. Proverbs 22:1 NIV 1984

Now in Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Cohort. He was a devout man, revering God with all his household … About the ninth hour of the day, he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming and saying to him, “Cornelius … send men to Joppa and call for Simon, also named Peter. He is being entertained as a guest by Simon the tanner, whose house is beside the sea.” Acts 10:1-6 TLV
God saw Cornelius and his noble efforts. And God knew he desired to learn more about Him. And God saw Peter and Simon the tanner. Although Simon the tanner appears to play a less significant role in this event, God knew his name and God knew where he lived and what he was doing (hosting Peter). So we can be comforted in knowing that God knows and God sees us, even if we feel insignificant in the stories of time.
For God does not show favoritism. Romans 2:11 NIV
