And Yeshua [Jesus] said to them, “You will all fall away …” But Peter kept insisting exceedingly, “Even if I must die with You, I’ll never deny You!” And they all were saying the same … And all fled, abandoning Him. Mark 14:27, 31, 50 TLV Passion is not the same as power. Jesus also said … But you will receive power when the Ruach ha-Kodesh [Holy Spirit] has come upon you; and you will be My witnesses … Acts 1:8 TLV His Spirit, His power is still available to us today! Hallelujah! And we know this is true because Yeshua the Messiah is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The old saying, ‘Seeing is believing,’ is simply not true. Why would I dare to say such a thing? Consider carefully these words of Jesus: For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and show signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the chosen. So be careful! See, I have told you everything beforehand. Mark 13:22-23 TLV Yeshua [Jesus] began to tell them, “Watch out that no one leads you astray!” Mark 13:5 TLV Let us see with spiritual eyes, hear with spiritual ears, and be grounded in His Word, the anchor that protects us from deception so that we will not believe the signs and wonders that may try to lead us astray. Jesus also said: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.” Mark 13:31 TLV Consider this Warrior of the Word resource by Tanja Dufrene for further study of Jesus’ teachings: Light in the Darkness Have you ever stubbed your toe when moving about in the middle of the night? And why did it happen? Because it was dark and you could not see, right? We simply cannot see everything when it is dark. In like manner, many simply cannot see how to navigate in life when it is dark. Yet when someone chooses right actions or attitudes, it’s like turning on a light. Then others can see more clearly. Jesus said it like this: You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the report about Yeshua [Jesus]. He said to his servants, “This is John the Immerser – he has risen from the dead! Because of this, these powers are at work in Him.” For Herod had arrested John, bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, because John had been telling him, “It is not permitted for you to have her.” Matthew 14:1-4 TLV Herod held a position of power. Yet he recognized that John, who he had killed, had a different kind of power and thought it also rested on Jesus. Yet notice what Jesus said to his disciples about the power we are to have: But you will receive power when the Ruach ha-Kodesh [Holy Spirit] has come upon you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and through all Judah, and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8 TLV It is true; there are positions of power among people. But that cannot compete or compare with the power of the Holy Spirit in us. Like a warm blanket on a cool winter’s day, let that wrap around you with great comfort. We are not alone. And we are not powerless. Hallelujah! … greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 TLV To learn more about the Holy Spirit, enjoy this study – The Helper by Martin Perryman. Available on Amazon.
