Hi there … I’m delighted that you decided to stop by. Shall we chat for just a bit? Well, actually this part is where I’m supposed to tell you about myself – a bit awkward for me, but hopefully helpful to you. So, what would you like to know?
Let’s see … you might like to know I am a passionate, yet imperfect follower of Jesus Christ. I learned about Him when I was a child and was captivated by His love for me! It is still beyond my comprehension that anyone would love me enough to basically say, ‘Go ahead, you live. I’ll take the hit for all our mistakes and messes. You go on with a clean slate, a fresh start. I’m taking the fall. I will bear all the blame so you can have a do over.’ At least that’s the modern language I would use to describe what Jesus did for me – and for you, and for whosoever will.
It’s all about Jesus
More formally, Jesus said it like this:
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:16 niv
Offered such love, how could anyone resist? So … I accepted. And I have spent my life seeking to know Him better. Now I passionately pursue opportunities to share with others about His amazing love and how He transforms mistakes and messes into lovely melodies.
melodies & meandering
Speaking of melodies, you might like to know I once hoped to be a music teacher. Funny how life’s journey can take us places we never dreamed of visiting or hanging out for a while. Instead of teaching music, I now share the beautiful music of life the Lord sings to me through His inspired Word, the Holy Bible.
My journey has also meandered through the deep-south marshlands of Louisiana to a place my husband affectionately called home. In our years together, we have served the body of Christ as worship leaders, youth pastors, administrative support, and a host of other helps to which you might give any number of titles.
wiggles & words
More recently the Lord has led me on a new path – new to me but one I’m quite sure He knew we would travel along one day. Now He is birthing through me words just like what you are reading. It is my hope that through these writing you will find soul-sustaining sustenance, enriching encouragement and a passion to pursue the lover of your soul more deeply.
I have found Him by simply reading and pondering His love letter to us all, The Holy Bible. Perhaps a less wordy way to say that is simply this: He so kindly drew me in to reading The Holy Bible and continues to show me that such a simple task is profoundly powerful. And this website is dedicated to sharing some of the treasures He has led me to discover in that pursuit. I hope you, too, will spend time in His presence and experience all that He has for you.
Are you still with me? (giggles) Just in case you are wondering, as of this writing I have been married to my south Louisiana beau for 35 years. God so graciously blessed us with two children who are now married, and they are blessing us with grandchildren – four at the present time. As a child, I preferred to wiggle around rather than still myself to read. And I still find a tickling humor in the idea that God would choose someone like me to write for Him.
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him
1 Timothy 1:12 nlt
So, does that give you enough insight about me? I sure hope so because now I would love to know something about you.
I hope you will determine to filter your thoughts and words through the truth of God’s Word before commenting …
The words of the reckless pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 12:18 niv
