Sunday scenes are shared, as you might guess, each Sunday – as well as on other special days. Again, a sword sharpening truth from God’s Word is added as a great way to bask in the goodness of the Lord with a visually stimulating image.
In Jerusalem also, Jehoshaphat appointed some of the Levites, priests and heads of Israelite families to administer the law of the Lord and to settle disputes. And they lived in Jerusalem. Then the prophet Shemaiah came to Rehoboam and to the leaders of Judah who had assembled in Jerusalem for fear of Shishak, and he said to them, “This is what the Lord says, ‘You have abandoned me; therefore, I now abandon you to Shishak.’” 2 Chronicles 12:5 NIV Let us not abandon God.

“You take things personally … “ his words continued as a list of complaints were spewed at me. It was a one sided exchange as his words seemed to kick up a cloud of dusty confusion in the air. His frustration could be felt, but I stood there like an outside observer, motionless. Sometime later, I read: “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12 NIV 1984 So when words or actions are taken against us because of our disciplined following of Jesus, let us not take it personally. We can find comfort in Him knowing it is not us who have offended, but His likeness that is seen in us, likely bringing conviction.

Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to set before the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. Luke 9:16-17 NIV 1984 Have you ever wondered where the baskets came from for the leftovers? Was that just an estimated measurement? I remember asking about that when I was a kid. Although I’ve not found a solid answer, it has been a comfort to know that Jesus does not waste leftovers. So whatever time or energy we have left in this life, He still has use for it. We can seek His plan and purpose and find contentment because He sees value in our leftovers. Meanwhile, the disciples were pressing Him, “Rabbi, eat!” But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” So the disciples were saying to each other, “No one brought Him food to eat, did they?” Yeshua tells them, “My food is to do the will of the One who sent Me and to accomplish His work.” John 4:31-34 TLV What fuels you? What kind of tasks or interests so consumes your mind and affection that you might not even want to stop to eat? Jesus said: My sheep hear My voice. I know them, and they follow Me. John 10:27 TLV What do you hear? Who do you follow? What does the self-talk in your mind say? Do the messages align with the words of Jesus and His nature? If not, you can overcome. How? For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but powerful through God for the tearing down of strongholds. We are tearing down false arguments and every high-minded thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Messiah. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 TLV Let the voice of Jesus be heard among us today. RESOURCE: Consider this resource with additional guidance. Now the Israelites were in distress that day, because Saul had bound the people under an oath, saying, “Cursed be anyone who eats food before evening comes, before I have avenged myself on my enemies!” So none of the troops tasted food. The entire army entered the woods, and there was honey on the ground. When they went into the woods, they saw the honey oozing out; yet no one put his hand to his mouth, because they feared the oath. 1 Samuel 14:24-26 NIV Let us not make rash promises nor fear an oath (promise) so that good judgment is clouded. #faith #warrior #words #fear #Bible #believers #Jesus #SoulSnack

What do you think about the word – why? It can be annoying when asked by a curious child too many times. Yet when answered, it can be enlightening. And as I read the passage below, I discovered an answer for why God sometimes demonstrates signs and wonders. … Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders. Acts 14:3 NIV 1984 God confirmed His message of grace through signs and wonders. This is His purpose in sending them. Signs are typically designed to be helpful (think of a road sign), yet they can be misleading or misunderstood (think of traveling to a billboard thinking it is the destination). So, too, miraculous signs and wonders. Similarly, Jesus said: For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect – if that were possible. Matthew 24:24 NIV 1984 So let us, like curious children, ask – why should we see signs and wonders? We can measure our experiences against the truth of God’s Word so we are not deceived. And we can know signs and wonders are sent by God to confirm the message of His grace.
