He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light. Job 12.22 niv
I do not recall what I was doing in that moment. Maybe I was preparing to leave for work or just washing dishes. But I easily recall what the Spirit whispered – God reveals to heal.
I had been troubled for some time over many events and headlines that were derogatory to our land, our nation. How are we as individuals, churches, and communities helping shape the image and standing of our nation? What kind of reputation must we be building on the world stage? And more importantly, how might God view us? Since leadership is a responsibility not to be taken lightly, I wondered if the leaders of our land understood this.
Finally, turning my thoughts heavenward, I began to pray. I asked God about the widespread corruption that had been revealed. In His ever-gentle way, He reminded me of an inspired word He had shared with a friend of mine: God reveals to heal.
I found comfort and encouragement in those four words. And I resolved to be more sensitive to His nudges (aka listen more closely to my conscience, the leading of the Holy Spirit), because when He speaks, it is always for my benefit. And as I respond, it is always for His glory. When God reveals, it is not so that He can judge, but so He can heal.
Healing is needed when disease or injury sets in. Physical healing can be helped with topical or oral medications many times. At other times, surgical intervention is needed where cutting occurs to remove or add. Sometimes in the healing process, we must stop activity to allow rest and restoration. And in healing of the mind or soul, similar principles apply. Yet in all of these situations, outside of a miracle, time is always necessary for healing.
So in the days yet ahead of us, what will we do with the time granted to us? How will we respond to that which God reveals?
“I have revealed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God.” Isaiah 43.12 niv

Bring us back to You, Adonai, and we will return … Lamentations 5:21 tlv
Revealed is a study of the story in which the gross overreach of power left in its wake a plethora of wounded and discarded souls. Bathsheba was merely one among many who suffered as the result of unjust decisions made by the most powerful man of her time, King David. Much is revealed about his heart as he commands a military campaign against the enemies of his kingdom while struggling with an assault against his soul. Much is revealed about her as life leads her through the horrifying experience of being power raped followed by involuntarily removal from her home, and the eventual loss of her infant baby. Through all of their experiences, David revealed a repentant heart and Bathsheba revealed a forgiving heart. How did they do it? Where did they find the strength and determination to continue living in the aftermath of such painful public and personal losses? And more importantly, where might we find the same as we experience life’s trials? Let us observe them in the depths of our imagination and study David & Bathsheba’s lives together in … Revealed.
